Weekly Organizing Tip: Refresh Your Space
When organizing a specific area, such as a closet, dresser drawer, or bathroom countertop, take time to refresh the space. The following steps will help ensure that the space is clean and ready for your organizational plan.
-Empty the space completely.
-Dust, vacuum, or lint roll surfaces to remove debris.
-Wipe down surfaces with damp cloths, polishing cloths, or other appropriate cleaning products.
-Add any necessary shelves or hooks.
-Refresh completely by painting or refinishing worn out walls and other surfaces.
Once the surface areas have been completely cleaned, you can add final touches such as shelf liners or storage baskets. Add sachets of small soap pieces to dresser drawers or fabric softener sheets to bathroom closets to keep everything fresh.

I just cleaned off my beautiful desk! I have not done this in about 5 years! I sorted, trashed and then dusted! I collected special pieces to hold the desk items.. tiny sugar bowl from Wales to hold zip drives, a demitasse cup for the large paper clips and the gold and blue saucer for tiny post-its. A china bowl to hold this and that. I sorted the 1 million pens and pencils and selected only the best to keep.
I just love it. But I started by writing down what is cluttering my home and desk area. I realized I just need a home for everything. A very specific plan for the 17 groups of family paper work, the 12 groups of work papers and items, and the 10 other home and fun things. It took 3 hours but I am off to a tremendous start with the household family/office/fun paper clutter.
I am telling myself “Just a Corner a day!” Your tip gave me the idea to add something scented! hmmm..
Glad to hear it Mary! Keep up the great work; organized living IS possible!
