I’m sure this house will forever be a work in progress, especially after Harvey took us down to studs. However, since moving in August of 2012 we have done quite a bit and as projects continue I will post updated photos.
LIMEWASHED EXTERIOR:
ENTRY:
Take a look at how I stained and clear coated this mahogany door using only the best products that will keep it looking great in the harsh Texas sun.
KITCHEN:
A little lot of paint, new hardware, and lighting. Ah, much better. Click here to read more about using chalk paint. I also repainted the ENTIRE living room/kitchen/entry with a neutral greige. After Harvey we had ANOTHER renovation and used unfinished cabinets to complete the repairs… and here is our kitchen today:
LIVING ROOM:

Of course I couldn’t resist making my own beaded chandelier. It was a lot easier than anticipated!
HOME OFFICE:
Below we installed a Pax wardrobe from Ikea for versatility and storage. It has a hanging rod for clothes or it can be used for additional office storage.
POWDER ROOM:
Our powder room features a custom vanity we built from scratch and a subway tile accent wall.
Updating our master closet was actually FUN after Harvey. Check back soon for a detailed post on how I used Ikea Pax wardrobes to create a custom built-in closet system.
MASTER BEDROOM:
Update: Obviously Harvey forced some major work upon us in here too. See how we made this barn door from scratch.
We used wood look tile in our master and I love the way it turned out. You can read more about how I did the stencil (I ended up painting over it though) here.
